Recently I have been finding that my clients aren’t sure what kind of cleanser they need for their skin type. Cleansing is an important step in your basic skincare routine so I lets break it down.
Cleanse your skin properly to:
- remove bacteria
- take off makeup
- lightly exfoliate dead skin cells on the surface
- remove excess dirt, sweat and oil
- hydrate and balance the pH of your skin
Here are some professional product recommendations:
Purifying Gel Cleanser (normal to oily skin):
This cleanser is great because it does not contain any unfriendly sulfates and smells like sweet tarts! Not recommended to use on the eye area since it contains a small amount of salicylic acid. Contains anti-inflammatory properties, fights acne and paraben-free!
Hydrating Gel Cleanser (normal to dry skin):
Contains lactic acid to brighten and hydrate skin while encouraging a light exfoliation. Does not contain any harmful sulfates, ant-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and paraben-free!
Gentle Cream Cleanser (sensitive skin or post peel):
Light cream cleanser, especially for extra sensitive skin types, that removes makeup and excess oil on the skin. Free of dyes, fragrance, parabens, gluten, nuts and soy. Contains antioxidants, anti-irritant properties, and promotes wound healing.
Bioglycolic Cleanser (all skin types except very sensitive):
Contains 12% glycolic to resurface the skin and prevent acne, ingrown hairs and wrinkles. Reduces surface pigmentation, dull skin and the appearance of blackheads. Best cleanser to use with the Jan Marini system and to promote clear, blemish-free skin.
C-Esta Cleansing Gel (combination to oily skin):
Gentle foaming antioxidant cleanser that brightens with a citrus scent. I love that it removes makeup thoroughly and a little amount goes a long way.
Oily Skin Cleansing Gel (oily, acneic skin or body acne):
Contains a high percentage of glycolic and removes excess oil. Great for cleansing acneic areas on the body.
